Battery powered lawnmowers are becoming more and more popular as battery technology advances and progresses. Lithium ion batteries have made cordless electric mowers very competitive with gas mowers. The top two brands for quality are Ego and Greenworks. Many other brands are also in the market.
To be comparable to a gas mower, it seems that batteries need to be at LEAST 40 volts. Ego seems to have hit a sweet spot with its 56 volt line of mowers. These Ego mowers are top of the line. They have excellent reviews, and are very expensive.
